Step-Down Converters Provide Flexible Control
Embarking in lead-free, 2 mm x 2 mm x 0.7 mm 16-bump CSPs, the MAX8884Y and MAX8884Z 700-mA step-down converters with dual 300-mA LDOs provide two switching-frequency options at 2 MHz or 4 MHz. Their individual logic on/off controls for each output allow for full control over output sequencing. To further enhance flexibility, the devices provide individual enables for the step-down converter and two LDO outputs as well as pin-selectable output voltages for the step-down converter (1.2V/1.8V) and one LDO (1.8V/2.8V). Other features include input voltages as low as 2.7V, an output noise of 26 mVrms, and a 65 dB PSRR. Prices start at $1.45 each/2,500. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
