Consisting of six- and seven-pack modules rated from 15A to 300A in 600V and 1200V versions, the R series of Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) uses NPT IGBTs for 1200V modules and fine pattern PT IGBTs for 600V devices. This allows the devices to

Consisting of six- and seven-pack modules rated from 15A to 300A in 600V and 1200V versions, the R series of Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) uses NPT IGBTs for 1200V modules and fine pattern PT IGBTs for 600V devices. This allows the devices to provide the high level of integration needed to reduce development time, yet remain price competitive with conventional IGBT modules, it’s claimed. The R series has integral gate drivers and protection features, such as junction and baseplate over-temperature, output overcurrent, output short-circuit, and power supply undervoltage protection. An alarm output indicates when any of these protection circuits are activated.
