Promising to simplify high-side current sensing in a wide range of high-voltage circuit protection applications, the ZXCT1080 current monitor provides an extended, common-mode-sensing voltage range from 3V to 60V. The device reduces the number of current-measuring external resistors to one via a gain-setting resistor with a fixed gain of 10V. This reduction in external parts plus the monitor’s SOT23-5 package also reduces overall design size and production costs. Other features include operation from a 4.5V to 12V supply and a typical quiescent current of 80 µA. Price is $0.788 each/1,000. ZETEX INC., Hauppauge, NY. (631) 360-2222.
