Two complete power amplifier chains for dual-band/dual-mode TDMA cell phones are included on a single chip in the MRFIC1856 GaAs device. The unit integrates two three-stage power amplifiers that are designed for operation from 824 to 849 MHz for TDMA

Two complete power amplifier chains for dual-band/dual-mode TDMA cell phones are included on a single chip in the MRFIC1856 GaAs device. The unit integrates two three-stage power amplifiers that are designed for operation from 824 to 849 MHz for TDMA and AMPS cellular handsets and 1850 to 1910 MHz for PCS TDMA phones. It conforms to TDMA and AMPS performance requirements for operation from a 3.6V battery. In addition, the two power-amp chains have adjacent channel power and alternate channel power specs of -29 dBc and -48 dBc, respectively, for both TDMA and PCS TDMA applications.
