Housed in 4 mm x 2.5 mm BGA packages, the FDZ2551N and FDZ2553N N-channel and FDZ2552P, and FDZ2554P P-channel MOSFETs have a 21% lower profile than standard 20V TSOP-6 devices. Designed to protect Li-ion battery packs, these dual-channel devices

Housed in 4 mm x 2.5 mm BGA packages, the FDZ2551N and FDZ2553N N-channel and FDZ2552P, and FDZ2554P P-channel MOSFETs have a 21% lower profile than standard 20V TSOP-6 devices. Designed to protect Li-ion battery packs, these dual-channel devices feature a common-drain connection for ease of installation in the pack. Their lower profile is said to achieve 79% lower on-resistances, ranging from 14 to 45 m_ at a gate charge of 4.5V and from 20 to 75 m_ at 2.5V, depending on the device. All four FETs require 18 solder connections and dissipate 2.1W (max.). Also depending on the MOSFET, QG at a gate charge of 4.5V ranges from 9V to 14V (typ.). Prices for FDZ2551N, FDZ2553N, FDZ2552P and FDZ2554P are $1.44, $1.56, $1.49 and $1.59, respectively, each/1,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (888) 522-5372.
