The TCR5SB series 200-mA, CMOS low-dropout regulators (LDOs) include a built-in control switch and specifies a quiescent current that outperforms the existing bipolar TAR5S series regulators by 75%. The devices offer an output-voltage range from 1.5V to 5.0V in increments of 0.1V. Maximum output current is 200 mA; over-current protection is built in. Package sizes available include SMV SOT23-5 and SC-74A, which measure 2.9 mm x 2.8 mm. Additionally, small capacitance ceramic capacitors can be used at the inputs and outputs. Samples are available now with production anticipated by the second quarter. The devices range in price from $0.12 to $0.15 each in sample quantities.
