A companion to high-resolution DACs and ADCs required in instrumentation and test equipment, the LTC6655 is an ultra-stable voltage reference with an unequaled noise level of only 625 nVp-p (0.25 ppmp-p) from 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz. The LTC6655 also offers a fully specified temperature range of -40ºC to 125ºC, supporting automotive and industrial applications. Advanced curvature compensation allows this bandgap reference to achieve a drift of less than 2 ppm/ºC and an output voltage accurate to ±0.025%, reducing or eliminating the need for system calibration. The LTC6655 low-dropout series references can be powered from as little as 500 mV above the output voltage, up to a maximum supply voltage of 13.2 V. Load regulation of 3 ppm/mA and ±5-mA source and sink capabilities coupled with only 5-ppm/V line rejection give consistent performance over a wide range of line and load conditions. A shutdown mode is provided for low-power applications. The LTC6655 is in production now with a 2.5-V output version. Additional voltage options will be available soon. Available in an MSOP-8 package, prices start at $3.60 each in lots of 1000. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (408) 432-1900.
