Addressing increased demands for advanced services and additional bandwidth on cable distribution networks, the ACA2401S7 24-V distribution amplifier is said to provide exceptionally low distortion and low noise figure, as well meeting the European Cenelec specification. The device is said to be designed for broadband cable distribution systems including head-ends, distribution networks, fiber nodes, line expanders, and system amplifiers. Focusing primarily on 870 MHz CATV systems, the IC consists of two pair of parallel amplifiers, which are said to provide flat gain and an excellent input and output return loss. A hybrid equivalent is created when one device is cascaded between two transmission baluns. Additional features include a gain of 21.5 dB, a return loss of 18 dB minimum, and a maximum noise figure of 4.5 dB. Housed in a 16-pin SOIC package, pricing is $18.45 each/10,000.
