Two families of synchronous voltage-mode dc-dc controllers can step down input voltage ranges from 8 to 40 V and 10 to 55 V. The TPS4005x and TPS4006x controllers infuse added flexibility, power efficiency, and ease of use for designers of high-density power supplies in networking, telecom, wireless basestations, and computer server applications. User-programmable functions and features include closed-loop soft-start and undervoltage lockout. The TPS4005x family steps down input voltages ranging from 8 to 40 V, and the TPS4006x family handles input voltages ranging from 10 to 55 V. Both families come in a 16-pin TSSOP PowerPad package with thermal protection. They cost $1.19 each in lots of 10,000.
