Only a 2.2-µH inductor and 1-µF ceramic capacitor are required for the MIC2202, a 2-MHz synchronous buck regulator that steps voltages down from a 2.3-V to 5.5-V input. Its internal power MOSFETs can supply 600 mA of output current with output voltages down to 0.5 V. The MIC2204, a lower-cost and larger device, requires a 4.7-µF ceramic capacitor and 4.7-µH inductor. Prices start at $1.79 each for the MIC2202 and $1.70 each for the MIC2204, both in lots of 1000. Delivery is from stock to 12 weeks.
