The MAXQ610 16-bit RISC microcontroller from Maxim Integrated Products is designed for low-power applications such as sensor and data logging where extended battery life is critical. It typically draws only 200 nA in stop mode and 3.75 mA while delivering 12 MIPS of performance. The MAXQ610 includes a pair of USARTs and a serial peripheral interface (SPI) port plus 38 general-purpose I/O pins capable of supporting a capacitive-touch keypad matrix. Its secure memory management unit (MMU) prevents device cloning and unauthorized access to sensitive application code. The chip will run on 1.7 to 3.6 V. Pricing for the 40-pin thin quad flat no-lead (TQFN) package starts at $1.22.
