With ratings from 500V to 650V, this family of HEXFET power MOSFETs delivers high efficiency operation in switch-mode power supply applications. The devices feature RDS(ON) ratings that are as much as 50% lower than previous devices, resulting in optimum conduction efficiency in this voltage range in the same package outline. That's balanced with gate-charge characteristics that are reduced about one-third to achieve lower switching and drive losses, it's said. And they can reduce power losses within a power supply by up to 30%, the company claims, enabling use of smaller heatsinks. All are in full production.
