Designed to serve as the core for high-frequency electronic ballasts, 600V Resonant Mode Controller IC, designated IR2157, features a variable frequency oscillator with 600V half-bridge gate drive functions, as well as a precision 50% duty cycle, programmable soft start, and comprehensive protection modes. To promote long lamp life, the device includes a programmable frequency and timing sequence for pre-heat, ignition and running mode. Matching timing characteristics of the startup sequence with lamp operating requirements puts less stress on the filaments, ensures reliable striking, and prolongs lamp life.
