The TPS21xx family of power distribution switches implement the auxiliary voltage (Vaux) requirements for PC designs that appear in many power-related PC specifications. The devices are designed to provide automated switching between power sources for dual voltage, standby or sleep modes used for power conservation in electronic equipment. In addition, the switches simplify the Vaux implementation by reducing the number of components and the space they require.Initial products include the TPS2100, a negative logic-enable switch, and the TPS2101, a positive logic-enabled switch. Both are compatible with 3.3V or 5V logic input levels. The two bi-directional power MOSFETs in each switch are a 260-milliohms RDS(ON), 500-mA N-channel device on the VCC side and a 1.2-ohms RDS(ON), 10-mA P-channel device on the Vaux side. Both have a 2.7V to 4V operating voltage.Samples of both SOT-23 or 8-pin SOIC devices are available now.
