With an external PNP pass transistor for the lowest possible dropout operation, TC57 low-dropout regulator controllers are packaged in an ultra-small SOT-23-5 and are well-suited for battery operated equipment. When connected to an external high beta pass transistor, this device forms a low-dropout voltage of less than 200 mV. Total supply current is 50 mA and power consumption is less than 1 mA in shutdown mode. Factory programmed output settings are from 2V to 6V in 0.1V increments. Typical applications include local supplies in networking systems, computing equipment, portable test systems, and battery operated devices.
