The need for multiple discrete parts is said to be eliminated with the latest additions to the firm’s Linear Building Blocks family of products. The TC1028 and TC1040 chips are highly integrated devices that combine two low-power comparators and a voltage reference in single space-saving packages. The devices also feature a shutdown mode and have rail-to-rail inputs and outputs, allowing operation from low supply voltages with large I/O signal swings. Minimum operating voltage is 1.8V. Applications embrace power management circuits in battery-operated systems such as cellular phones, pagers, PDAs, PC audio, DVDs and multimeters.
