Claimed as the first dc-to-dc converter available in a standard small outline (SO) package, the DCP02 family of isolated 2W converters is designed to offer a combination of reliability, power density and miniature package size. The devices are well suited for a wide range of power isolation applications involving point-of-use power conversion, data acquisition, industrial control and instrumentation, and ground loop elimination. Designed and assembled using standard semiconductor processes, the 2W-output devices boast of up to 89% efficiency, thermal protection, and device-to-device synchronization. They come in 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V input versions with output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 7V, 9V, 12V, 15V, ±5V, ±12V and ±15V. Reliability figures of 75 FITs have been measured. The converters are priced from $7.00 each/1000 in 14-PDIP or SO-28 SMT packages.
