The ADP3401 and ADP3402 ICs are said to meld on a single chip the design requirements for longer battery-powered operation together with smaller size and weight for power-management functions for all critical GSM subsystem blocks. The functions include the company's anyCAP low dropout system regulators, SIM card supplies and interfaces, monitoring and sequencing functions, and power-on reset.
Though optimized for use with the company's AD20msp425 chipset, the ADP3401 can be used with any set of GSM baseband chips. The ADP3402 has a different core voltage and LDO sequencing and is a companion to the company's AD20msp430 baseband chipset, as well as those from other manufacturers. Available in 28-pin TSSOPs, pricing is $3.81 each/1,000.
