The 74LVTH16500 LVT is claimed to be an easy socket replacement when transitioning from 5V ABT to 3V systems. The device is a low-voltage, 18-bit universal bus transceiver with tri-state outputs. Fabricated using BiCMOS technology and functionally compatible with the company's 74 series 16500 devices, the new LVT also features latchup performance that exceeds 500 mA. During power up and down, the device claims guaranteed high impedance inputs and outputs, allowing live insertion and extraction, as well as glitch-free bus loading. Available in a 56-lead SSOP and TSSOP packages, the 74LVTH16500 LVT is priced at $2.34 each/1,000.
