Weighing just 5.5g, the 66Axx is reported as the industry’s smallest, piezoelectric triaxial accelerometer to provide TEDS capabilities. The integrated TEDS feature provides digital identification communication that is IEEE P1451.4-compliant between an integrated signal conditioner and the accelerometer. The tiny accelerometer uses an annular shear-sensing element, and the device’s output is via a four-pin receptacle. The 66Axx includes three stand-alone, hybrid signal conditioners, each operating in a two-wire system. Low impedance voltage outputs are connected to the same cable that supplies constant-current power. Optionally, a factory installed outer case can be used for ground isolation. The accelerometer is available in 5 mV/g (66A50), 10 mV/g (66A11), and 100 mV/g (66A12) configurations. ENDEVCO, San Juan Capistrano, CA. (949) 493-8181.
