The XC6401 series dual output LDO regulators integrate two voltage regulators and a unique automatic power saving mode. Automatic switching to power saving mode keeps the output sleeping during times of inactivity. In this mode, the device consumes 4.5 µA of quiescent current while still supplying up to 3 mA of output current. This approach is said to significantly extend both standby time and battery life. Housed in a SOT-23-6W or a 0.65-mm USP-6B chip scale package, the dual LDO also includes a reference voltage source, error amplifiers, driver transistors, current limiters, and phase compensators. Maximum output current is 150 mA per channel, and output voltages are selectable in 0.1V steps over a 0.8V to 5V range. Operating voltage is between 1.8V to 6V. Ripple rejection rate is 70 dB at 10 kHz and short- circuit protection between the output-current limiter and the output pin is provided by the current limiter's foldback circuit. Operating temperature range is from -40°C to +85°C. For more information and prices, call Gareth Henson at TOREX SEMICONDUCTOR, Leicestershire, England. +44 (0)1530 510190.
