Unveiled as the market's first single-chip, interleaved PWM controllers for 50A to 100A power supplies, the UCC28220 and UCC2821 peak current mode controllers are available in interleaved-forward or interleaved fly-back isolated topologies. They include two PWM channels operating 180° out of phase to control a single high-current output. Features common to both devices include a 2-MHz programmable oscillator with up to 1 MHz operation per channel, matched internal slope compensation, programmable duty-cycle clamp, programmable soft start, an opto-coupler interface, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to 105°C. The UCC28221 integrates a 110V startup JFET. Available in SOIC and TSSOPs, prices for UCC28220 and UCC2821 are $1.49 and $1.57, respectively, each/1,000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX.
