The MAX1515 constant-off-time, PWM source/sink step-down dc/dc converter is suitable for use as a DDR (double data rate) regulator, producing an output that is exactly half the memory supply rail. The device integrates dual, n-channel 40-O MOSFET switches that source and sink continuous load currents up to 3A. Output range is adjustable from 0.5V to 2.7V with efficiencies as high as 95%. Additionally, the device operates with adjustable switching speeds up to 1 MHz and in temperatures from -40°C to +85°C. Available in a 24-pin TQFN package with an exposed backside pad, prices start at $4.35 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
