The NCP5381 debuts as the industry’s first asynchronous dual-edge pulse width modulation (PWM) controller for power management. Available in a 40-pin Pb-free QFN package, the device also touts a significantly faster response to load transients than current single-edge, latched, clocked, or synchronous modulation chips. Employing patent-pending dynamic reference injection technology, the controller features a voltage accuracy of 0.5%, remote temperature sensing as per VR11, backward compatibility with VR10, and loss-less differential inductor-current sensing. Samples are available now with production scheduled for the first quarter of 2006. ON SEMICONDUCTOR, Phoenix, AZ. (800) 282-9855
