Micrel Sets Benchmark With Dual 300 mA ULDO

The MIC5335, a dual-channel, ultra-low dropout (ULDO) linear voltage regulator, delivers a record-level output of 300 mA per channel in a six-pin MLF package measuring 1.6 mm x 1.6 mm with a height of 0.6 mm. The device is reportedly the smallest dual ULDO on the market capable of providing 300 mA of output and also exhibits the lowest dropout voltage, specified as 75 mV at 300 mA. It exhibits a PSRR greater than 65 db at 1 kHz under low input-to-output voltage conditions. The device integrates two independently controlled LDOs that exhibit reliable transient performance while requiring only small, 1-mF ceramic capacitors. Other features include a turn-on time of 30 ms, current-limit and thermal-shutdown protection, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. Pricing starts at $0.75 each/1,000.
