The EM6156 automotive-grade low dropout (LDO) regulator combines voltage regulation, voltage monitoring, and software monitoring with a watchdog function. The device supplies a 5V, 120 mA output and includes reverse-battery, short-circuit, and thermal protection. A reset function activates when the regulator output drops below the threshold voltage, while the watchdog function monitors software cycle time and execution. Other features include an SO8 package that requires no external components, operation up to 40V, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.
