Additions to the company's PowerWise family of buck regulators offer a combination of power sequencing, adjustable switching frequency, and clock-synchronization options. The 10 additions debut as the first such devices to feature both high power and self-synchronization. Providing a variety of input voltages and output currents, the LM201xx and LM202xx families include 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A output devices and each regulator integrates two switching MOSFETs and employs an externally compensated peak current-mode control loop. External compensation allows performance optimization for the output capacitor and inductor. Available in 16-pin TSSOPs, nine of the regulators operate with an input voltage range from 2.95V to 5.5V and deliver up to 5A of continuous output. Fixed and adjustable switching frequency versions are also available. Additionally, each device includes an internal voltage accuracy of 1.5% from -40°C to 125°C. Prices range from $2.30 to $3 each/1,000. NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 272-9959.
