Designed to work on the primary side of an isolated half-bridge intermediate bus converter (IBC), the SiP11205 and SiP11206 controllers debut as the market's first to integrate 75V half-bridge MOSFET drivers with a 1.6A peak current and a full range of current monitoring and control features. The devices promise to simplify designs and reduce costs by eliminating the need for separate controllers and high-voltage MOSFET drivers for secondary synchronous rectification, while their half-bridge architecture allows the use of lower-voltage components. They step down voltages with greater than 95% efficiency, support an input voltage range of 36V to 75V, and handle 100V transients for 100 ms in compliance with ETSI 300-132-2. Both devices feature a programmable oscillator frequency range from 200 kHz to 1 MHz. The SiP11205 includes input-voltage sensing and feed-forward circuitry while the SiP11206 differs by allowing the converter to work at the optimal duty cycle within its full input-voltage range in dc transformer mode. Other shared features include a comprehensive range of protection functions. Available in MLP44-16 PowerPAK or TSSOP-16 PowerPAK housings, prices for the SiP11205 and SiP11206 are $2.25 and $1.95 each/1,000, respectively. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY, INC., Malvern, PA.
