Providing power management for Intel's VR11.0 and VR11.1 processors, the IR3502 provides overall system control and interfaces when operating with any number of the company's XPhase phase ICs, each of which drives and monitors a single phase. The chip features a 0.5% overall system set point accuracy and daisy-chain digital phase timing for phase interleaving without the need for external components. It integrates a range of protection features and programmability including a 250 kHz to 9 MHz clock oscillator to provide a per phase switching frequency of 250 kHz to 1.5 MHz, programmable dynamic VID slew rate, and programmable VID offset or no offset. Other features include a high-speed error amplifier with a bandwidth of 30 MHz, slew rate of 10 V/ms, and a droop capability that reduces the potential need for an external thermistor. Available in a 32-lead, 5 mm x 5 mm MLPQ package, pricing for the IR3502MTRPBF starts at 1.90 each/10,000. INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7726.
