Groomed for portable, office automation, and consumer applications, the A4490 step-down switching regulator provides three adjustable, high-current, outputs from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 34V. Each output is adjustable from 0.8V to 5V with a maximum current of 2A. Multiphase switching reduces EMI and minimizes stress on input capacitors by interleaving the turn-on cycle of the regulators. Other features include a fixed switching frequency of 550 kHz, power-on-reset circuit with programmable delay that indicates when enabled regulators are in specification, and internal diagnostics providing protection against, overloads, input under voltages, and over temperature. Available in a 20-pin QFN package measuring 4 mm x 4 mm x 0.75mm, price is 1.19 each/1,000. ALLEGRO MICROSYSTEMS INC., Worchester, MA. (508) 853-5000.
