Groomed for notebook computers, the MAX17007A and MAX17008 dual, synchronous step-down switch-mode power-supply (SMPS) controllers employ the company's proprietary constant on-time, Quick-PWM architecture to support wide input/output voltage ratios while maintaining a relatively constant switching frequency. Both controllers can combine to operate as a two-phase, high-current single-output graphics processor unit (GPU) core regulator for powering the GPU engines in gaming machines and media-center notebooks. The MAX17007A and MAX17008 are available in 28-pin, 4 mm x 4 mm TQFN packages and specify an operating temperature range from -40?C to +85?C. Prices start at $3.85 each/1,000.
