The MAX15041 synchronous dc/dc converter with integrated MOSFETs resides in a small 3 mm x 3 mm package and provides up to 3A of output with an efficiency of 93%. Working with a fixed 350-kHz PWM frequency, it relies on a peak-current-mode architecture to simplify compensation. Operating from a 4.5V to 28V input voltage, the chip provides a ±1% output-voltage accuracy over temperature. Available in a 16-pin, TQFN, prices start at $1.80 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
