Evaluation Kit Enables Wireless Battery Charging

Jan. 13, 2010
The bqTESLA is thought to be the industry's first wireless battery-charging evaluation kit
Heralded as the industry’s first contactless charging evaluation kit, the bqTESLA promises to speed the design of devices that can charge without wires. Based on Fulton Innovation’s eCoupled intelligent wireless power technology, the kit consists of a single-channel transmitter, direct-charge receiver, and associated magnetics. Requiring no additional software development, it allows true plug-and-play design functionality. Additionally, a reference guide provides recommendations for coils to allow for receiver customization and the kit supports the future Qi standard under development by the Wireless Power Consortium. Available by the end of this quarter, price is $250 each. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
