Two additions to the Cool-ORing Active ORing product family, the PI2127 full-function active device and PI2007 universal high-speed discrete Active ORing controller, address 12V and 48V high-side redundant bus applications. The PI2127 integrates a high-speed ORing MOSFET controller and a low on-state resistance MOSFET with an 80-ns turnoff time. In a 7 mm x 8 mm LGA, the 60V device delivers up to 12A. Other features include an active low fault flag output to the system during reverse current, excessive forward over-current, and UVLO fault conditions. The PI2007 is for use with N-channel MOSFETs in 12V and 48V high-side redundant-power architectures. This includes systems with a wide input range from 36V to 75V that also operate during input-voltage transients up to 100V for 100 ms. An internal charge pump eliminates the need for a separate bias supply in high-side apps. Prices for the PI2127 and PI2007 are $4.66 and $1.61 each/1,000, respectively. VICOR CORP., Andover, MA.
