Requiring only 70 microA of quiescent current, the LT3690 36V input, synchronous step-down switching regulator delivers up to 4A of continuous output current at efficiencies as high as 93%. It operates within a VIN range of 3.9V to 36V and offers transient protection to 60V. Switching frequency is user-programmable from 170 kHz to 1.5 MHz, enabling users to optimize efficiency while avoiding noise-sensitive bands. Available in a 4 mm x 6 mm QFN-26 package, price is $4.95 each/1,000. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 454-6327.
