The LT3641 dual channel, current mode step-down switching regulator integrates a plethora of features including a power-on reset, watchdog timer, 4V to 42V input voltage range, and a 55V transient capability. The device relies on a dual-channel design with a nonsynchronous channel, which delivers 1.3A of output current combined with a lower input voltage synchronous channel, delivering up to 1.1A of continuous output current. Integrated microprocessor supervisor functions support high reliability applications such as automotive electronic control units. The device’s switching frequency is user programmable from 350 kHz to 2.5 MHz. Available in a 4 mm x 5 mm QFN-28 or TSSOP-28 package, pricing starts at $3.58 each/1,000.
