The MAX13256 H-bridge transformer driver offers a wide input-voltage range for isolated power supplies.

The MAX13256 H-bridge transformer driver offers a wide input-voltage range for isolated power supplies. Reportedly, users can quickly and easily design a 90% efficient isolated DC-DC converter. The device drives a transformer’s primary coil with up to 300 mA of current from an 8- to 36-Vdc supply that can deliver up to 10W of isolated power.  Protection features include adjustable current limiting, over-current limiting set by an external resistor over a 215 mA to 650 mA range, and an active-low fault output asserts when the device detects an over-temperature or over-current condition. Additionally, the device features a low-power mode to reduce the overall supply current to 0.65 mA. Available in a 10-pin TDFN, pricing starts at $2.85 each/1,000.
