In a 2 mm x 3 mm QFN package, the MP28258 debuts as the industry’s smallest 20V/3A, 20V synchronous, switch-mode, step-down converter. It accepts a 4.25V to 20V input and delivers a 0.815V to 13V output with load currents to 3A. Other features include an adaptive constant on-time (COT) control method, power FETs, power-good indicator, and up to 95% peak efficiency at 12V input and 5V output. Price is $1.49 each/1,000.
