Buck Converters Keep Quiescent Current Low

Nov. 30, 2011
The LTC3103 and the LTC3104 15V, fixed-frequency synchronous buck converters deliver 300 mA of continuous current and output voltages from 0.6V to 13.8V.

The LTC3103 and the LTC3104 15V, fixed-frequency synchronous buck converters deliver 300 mA of continuous current and output voltages from 0.6V to 13.8V. The LTC3103 consumes 1.8 µA of quiescent current while the LTC3104 with a 10-mA programmable LDO output requires 2.6 µA. Both devices operate from an input voltage range of 2.5V to 15V and at a fixed 1.2-MHz switching frequency. Efficiencies are as high as 95%. Pricing starts at $2.70 each/1,000 for the LTC3103 and $2.96 each/1,000 for the LTC3104. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 454-6327.
