High Power AC/DC PSUs Are Ruggedized And Flexible

Oct. 8, 2013
400 W, 700 W and 1,000 W ac/dc PSUs supporting 47-440 Hz input frequency range, can be adapted to meet their exact functional specifications.

The MC1U Series PSUs from Powerstax, offered in 400 W, 700 W and 1,000 W versions, support a 47 to 440 Hz input frequency range and can be adapted to meet their exact functional specifications - with the output voltage adjusted as required using an integrated multi-turn potentiometer. Measuring 26.0 x 12.7 x 4.0 cm, the user-configured PSUs exhibit power conversion efficiencies of up to 91%, with an available input voltage range of 85 to 264 Vac at 47 to 63 Hz, and 90 to 120 Vac at 390 to 440 Hz. The units can also be combined with the company’s A3600 chassis to form 19 inch rack mount systems. Designed to withstand shock, vibration and extreme temperatures (fully conforming to MIL-STD-461F and MIL-STD-810G standards), the new series is targeted at implementation into MIL-COTS and other high reliability systems, such as marine/military communication, satellite guidance, avionics and radar. Over-current, over-voltage and inrush current protection mechanisms are incorporated into the units, as well as thermal shutdown. The MC1U Series PSUs have a 3,000 Vac voltage isolation and an operational temperature range of -55ºC to 70ºC.
