XR Power-Supply Series Expands With High-Voltage 2U Rack-Mount Models

Dec. 3, 2013
The fourth generation of Magna-Power Electronics’ XR series of programmable dc power supplies introduces 2-, 4-, 6-, 8-, and 10-kV models at 2, 4, 6, and 8 kW—all in 2U rack-mount packages.

The fourth generation of Magna-Power Electronics’ XR series of programmable dc power supplies introduces 2-, 4-, 6-, 8-, and 10-kV models at 2, 4, 6, and 8 kW—all in 2U rack-mount packages. They offer ≤ 0.15% rms output-voltage ripple, and ±0.075 programming accuracy. Features include front-panel control, 37-pin isolated analog-digital I/O, and an RS-232 computer programming interface. Remote Interface Software and the company’s IVI Driver enable programming from various environments, such as LabVIEW and Visual Studio. An SCPI command simplifies advanced programming capabilities. Among the communications options are an LXI TCP/IP Ethernet interface (+LXI), IEEE-488 GPIB interface (+GPIB), and USB Edgeport (+USB). All incorporate a three-phase input, with options ranging from 208 to 480 V ac (a one-phase 208/240 input option is available for 2-kW models). Customers can specify whether the unit comes with the positive or negative output terminal grounded.
