Targeting space-constrained, board-level, power-distribution applications, MicroPower Direct’s ME100S series of dc-dc converters delivers 1 W of output power in a mini four-pin SIP package. The 35 models in the series operate from 3.3-, 5-, 12-, 24-, and 48-V dc inputs, with single outputs of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, 18, or 24 V dc. Efficiency runs as high as 83%. Other features include 1000 V dc I/O isolation and low-noise operation. Mean time between failure (MTBF) per MIL HDBK 217F is greater than 1.1 Mhours. Operating temperature ranges from −40 to +85°C; the device don’t require derating or heatsinking. Cooling is provided by free-air convection.
