Heavy-use industrial applications that require more robust power supplies may want to consider XP Power’s HHP650 series of six fan-cooled ac-dc units. The 650-W supplies accommodate a 85- to 305-V ac input range, and deliver up to 780 W at high line input. Peak power reaches 800 W at low line and 1000 W at high line for 10 seconds maximum. Output voltages range from +12 to +48 V dc; a trim function will adjust ±10% from stated nominal output. An auxiliary always-on output of +5 V/0.2 A powers logic and memory functions. They comply with the shock and vibration specification of MIL-STD-810F, meets the SEMI-F47 immunity to voltage sag spec, and can withstand a 6-kV surge as defined by IEEEStdC62.41. The supplies also are certified against the UL508 safety standard for industrial control equipment, international safety standard UL/EN/IEC 60950, and the ANSI/ISA12.12.01-20 (previously UL1604) spec for equipment used in hazardous location. Operating temperature ranges from ‒40 to +70°C, with no derating until +50°C. Efficiency typically hits 85%. Replete with an internal end-mounted variable-speed fan, the supplies measure 10 by 4.2 by 2.5 in.
