Top-Loading, Slim-Line Coin-Cell Holder Targets Li-ions

Sept. 9, 2019
Keystone’s Vibra-Fit 20-mm coin-cell holder features a UL 94V-0-rated housing and tin-plated brass contacts.

Keystone Electronics Corp. has released a new vertical-mount, coin-cell holder that allows for top entry of the popular 2032, 2025, or 2 x 2016 lithium batteries. The top-loading holder, Cat. #1074, joins the company's full line of vertical 20-mm coin-cell holders including Cat. #1065 and Cat. #1067.

Designed to retain cells securely under shock and vibration, this new Vibra-Fit holder features a UL 94V-0-rated housing and tin-plated brass contacts, providing low-contact-resistant and simplified through-hole mounting on printed circuit boards (PCBs).

According to the company, the narrow profile holder affords a minimal footprint for high-density PCB packages, allowing users to stack two 2016 cells on top of each other to achieve 6 V of power or for single-cell 3-V applications from the same board footprint. Suitable for circuit backup power, it accepts all major manufacturers’ batteries, says Keystone.

The company’s line of battery hardware for SMT and THM applications includes clips, holders, retainers, and straps in a variety of configurations and sizes.

All Keystone products are available from its global distribution network. For more information, visit here.
