The need for improved power management inside cars and on factory floors is forcing vendors to build more robust, efficient power electronics. Companies are rolling out new power supplies, gate drivers, switches, converters and other parts that promise big improvements in power efficiency. They are also bringing more fault protection features into the fold to withstand surges, short-circuits and other dangers as well as electromagnetic interference (EMI) and other transient noise.
