Redundant Power Switch Has Out-Of-Phase Switching Capability
Combining redundant power switching, under-voltage and out-of-phase source switching capabilities, the T2235 Series of dual ac input power switches is said to solve the problem of how to switch ac power sources that are not phase synchronized. The T2235 Series employs primary and secondary ac power inputs, with the units automatically kicking in the secondary source when primary power is lost or experiences a brown-out. The switches make the primary-to-secondary transfer fast enough to keep equipment powered without interruption. The addition of power input redundancy to equipment is especially useful where N+1 power supply redundancy is not available. The T2235 can be used with dual UPS, one UPS/one utility, dual utility, or one generator/one utility feeds. The 1U (1.75") high, 7" deep and 19" rack-mount power switches are available in several configurations, with 15A and 20A, 120V versions available with NEMA-style receptacles. An international (IEC) version is also available that operates at 100V to 240V. Prices start at $527 each, with OEM quantity discounts available. PULIZZI ENGINEERING INC., Santa Ana, CA.
