A new line of HyperLink power-over-Ethernet (PoE) injector/midspans, replete with integral power supplies, doesn’t require a separate dc injector and power supply. As a result, installing PoE becomes a much simpler task. Developed by L-com Inc., the all-in-one injector/power supplies come in 12-, 24-, 48-, and 56-V dc versions. Desktop and wall-mount models are available. The latter can be plugged directly into a wall electrical outlet, eliminating the need for additional power cables. All models are either IEEE 802.3af- or 802.3af/at-compatible, depending on the model. Protection circuits are built in. Due to their size, the injector/power supplies will fit into crowded spaces, such as 120-V ac industrial enclosures and ac universal outlet enclosures.
