In addition to featuring a power density of 145 W/in.3, the 40A QM48T40 and 45A QM48T45 dc/dc converters are said to deliver state-of-the-art thermal performance with minimal derating in their compact, quarter-brick packages. Dubbed the QmaXTM series, the converters come in open-frame packages measuring 36.8 mm x 58.4 mm x 7.9 mm, weighing just 1.1 oz., and requiring no heatsinks. According to the company, thermal performance of the new dc/dc converters at a typical operating temperature of 70°C and airflow of 200 LFM is unmatched by any other quarter brick converter, regardless of rated output current, and surpasses that of most 40A and 50A half-bricks. Both converters can operate with input voltages of from 36V to 75V and are available with output voltage ratings of 3.3V, 2.5V, 2V, 1.8V, 1.5V, 1.2V and 1V. The QM48T45033 can deliver 45A at 3.3V, resulting in an output of up to 150W of power with an efficiency up to 93%. The QM48T45 is priced at $85 and the QM48T40 costs $81 each/1,000.
