Groomed for waste heat conversion applications, the company's miniature, thin-film thermoelectric generator (TEG) converts heat directly into electricity. The solid-state TEG delivers power densities in excess of 3 W/cm2, said to exceed levels common to bulk materials while being twenty times thinner. Manufactured using semiconductor fabrication techniques, the component is scalable, said to be cost-effective, and finds employment in a broad range of markets including automotive, military and aerospace, thermal batteries, medical implants, and wireless sensor networks. The TEG delivers output power levels of greater than 100 mW at a temperature change of 70°K and greater than 300 mW at a change of 120°K. Modular in form, it measures 3.5 mm x 3.5 mm.
