Based on patent-pending technology for synchronous rectification and noise reduction, the EB series dc/dc converters deliver up to 30W of output power from metal cases that measure 50.8 mm x 25.4 mm x 11.43 mm. Providing both EMI and RFI protection, the metal casings also allow for operation in free-air environments, as opposed to open-frame designs that typically require forced-air cooling. Fifteen models comprise the series with custom models available upon request. The converters feature a 2:1 input voltage range with nominal inputs of 12, 24, and 48 Vdc and single output voltages of 2.5, 3.3, 5, 12, or 15 Vdc. Standard features include efficiencies up to 92%, input-to-output isolation, soft start, external synchronization, input under-voltage, output over-voltage, short-circuit, and thermal protection, and a temperature range from –40°C to +71°C. Single-unit price starts at $65. BETA DYNE, INC., Bridgewater, MA. (508) 697-1993.
